Year 4/5- Kenya Class

Welcome to Kenya Class!

Kenya Class is an exciting and vibrant learning environment made up of a mix of Year 4 and Year 5 pupils. This unique setup provides wonderful opportunities for collaborative learning, peer support, and the chance for children to grow together as they build on their individual strengths. Our aim is to create a nurturing and stimulating atmosphere where every child feels encouraged to explore new topics, consolidate prior learning, and develop the skills needed for the next stage of their education.

We are committed to making this year both enjoyable and rewarding, with a focus on fostering independence, teamwork, and confidence. Kenya Class is a place where curiosity and creativity thrive, and we look forward to an incredible year of learning together.

Key Information:

  • Homework: Assigned every Monday and due the following Monday. Homework will include spellings, grammar activities, and maths tasks linked to what we’ve been learning in class.
  • Spellings: Each week, children will receive a list of 14 spellings aligned with the national curriculum. They are encouraged to practice these words and use them in sentences to understand their meanings. Spelling tests will take place every Monday.
  • Reading: Children are expected to read at least four times a week and record this in their reading records. Reading aloud to an adult and discussing the text is strongly encouraged to support comprehension.
  • PE: Takes place on Wednesday afternoons unless it is a ‘Drop Down Week.’ Please ensure children bring their full PE kit to school each week. Any changes to the schedule will be communicated in advance.

We look forward to a fantastic year in Kenya Class, where curiosity, creativity, and community will help every child thrive!
