At Trinity St Mary’s, we recognise that the use of technology is not only an integral part of the national curriculum, but also a key skill for everyday life, particularly in modern times. Computers, tablets, programmable robots, digital and video cameras are a few of the tools that can be used to acquire, organise, store, manipulate, interpret, communicate and present information. At TSM, we recognise that pupils are entitled to quality hardware and software and a structured and progressive approach to the learning of the skills needed to enable them to use it effectively.

Implementation
At TSM, we use the Teach Computing scheme devised by STEM Computing. We offer opportunities for children of all abilities to develop their skills and knowledge in each area, and we ensure that there is ongoing progression that offers the children an increasing challenge as they move through the school. To achieve this, we ensure that the learning completed in computing builds upon prior learning and that gaps in learning are addressed before moving forwards. Each academic year begins with a unit on networks and computer systems which helps children to progressively build on their knowledge. Children are able to use a wide range of resources and software during their lessons such as: BeeBots, Data Loggers, Chromebooks, iPads, Scratch, Logo and much more.
Internet Safety
Whilst internet safety is included in our Teach Computing scheme, at TSM, we also teach dedicated Internet safety lessons from Reception-Year 6 to ensure children are able to safely engage with technology.
