Early Years Foundation Stage
At TSM, our Early Years Intent is to create an exciting learning environment and build relationships which support, enhance and invite a child’s curiosity and confidence. We want them to flourish, regardless of backgrounds, circumstances or needs.
We aim to work with parents and carers to encourage independent, enthusiastic learners who thrive in our school.
It is our aim that children who enter our EYFS begin their lifelong learning journey by developing physically, verbally, cognitively and emotionally whilst also embedding a positive attitude to school, and a love of learning.
To ensure children make excellent progress in the EYFS, we will take into consideration each child’s starting points and needs. Every child has access to an ambitious, broad and balanced curriculum which prepares them for now and for the future in terms of opportunities and experiences. In addition to development matters and early learning goals, our TSM specific curricular goals and Christian ethos enrich and enhance each child’s experiences.
Our EYFS, curriculum aims to enable our children to be:
- Competent and creative learners who are curious about the world around them and are proud to be a part of the TSM Family.
- Secure and confident and independent learners who enjoy learning new skills and knowledge building on their existing learning.
- Skilled communicators; who connect with others through language and play, ensuring that they play in a vocabulary-rich environment.
- Practise shared moral values and celebrate our Christian distinctiveness as a Church of England school.
